Telangana, Hyderabad: In a joint operation, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, along with Chatrinaka Police, apprehended two individuals engaged in the illegal sale of Indian Made Foreign (IMF) liquor from their residences. The accused, identified as Prabhakar Reddy, 58, of Chatrinaka, and J. Chandra Mohan, 50, of Uppuguda, were involved in operating unauthorized liquor “belt shops” and earning money without valid licenses.
Case Background: Both individuals, natives of Hyderabad, were known to acquire liquor in small quantities from various wine shops, then store and resell it at higher prices during early and late hours. They had previously been involved in similar illegal liquor sales. Acting on a tip-off, officials conducted the raid, apprehended the accused, and seized both liquor bottles and cash.
The accused and confiscated items were handed over to the Chatrinaka Police Station, where two cases have been registered under Section 34(A) of the Telangana State Excise Act. An investigation is underway. A total of 405 bottles, amounting to 82.46 liters of liquor, with a market value of Rs. 71,170, were seized during the raid.
The arrests were carried out under the supervision of Inspector S. Raghavendra, along with Sub-Inspectors K. Narsimulu, N. Naveen, G. Anjaneyulu, and Task Force and Chatrinaka Police personnel.
