<![CDATA[With the arrest of two people on February 23, the Delhi Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a pan-India fake degree racket operating through an education society in the city. The gang involved was selling fake degrees, mark sheets and certificates of renowned school boards and universities across the country. The police told that the gang had created a fake website to attract potential victims. The gang members also offered services to customers promising good marks in the tests. They would achieve this by exchanging answers sheets with the help of employees in the universities. They charged between Rs.50,000 and Rs.1 lakh for this, the police told. The two arrested were identified as Sandeep Chahal and Dhanraj Dhanda, both from Jind district in Haryana. They ran a business under the name of ‘Satyam Education’ in Mundka,the police told. The police received a confidential piece of information that Sandeep will be in Mundka to supply fake mark sheets on February 23. A trap was laid and he was detained. Later, Dhanraj was detained. A laptop, a mark sheet template, degrees of various universities and pen drives were seized from them. During interrogation, the two confessed that they had been making fake mark sheets, migration certificates, degrees and other educational documents with help of co-coordinators of various universities. The police are examining the pen drives and the laptop to get details of persons who obtained fake degrees from them.]]>
