Hyderabad: Commissioner’s Task Force team arrested two people and recovered a Victorian era marine telescope (brass telescope used at the time of World War 1) from their possession. The duo was trying to sell the telescope, which was made by W. Ottway & Co. Ltd in 1915 in London, for six lakh rupees to their potential customers. Police officials said that the antique had reached India before independence and it has been sold and bought by different people earlier, and thus it reached in the hands of the suspects. The accused persons P.Madhusudhan Reddy, 27, a financier from Upperpally, and G.Vishal, from Attapur, are friends since past five years. “Few days back the Madhusudhan Reddy informed Vishal that he has two antique telescopes and had asked him to sell it to the prospective customers. He offered him 40% commission. Vishal was hunting for the customers near Nagarjuna Hills, Panjagutta when our team apprehended him,” an official from Task Force said.
