Rachakonda: On credible information, the sleuths of Special Operations Team, LB Nagar Zone team along with Uppal police busted an interstate drug syndicate by apprehending two interstate drug peddlers namely Mangi Lal(22), and Om Prakash(26) of Rajasthan, and seized 1.5 Kilograms of Contraband Substance Opium. One Honda Activa and Two Mobile Phones and Net Cash Rs.500/- all worth Rs.12.15.000/- from their possession. A case was registered under the NDPS Amendment Act 2001 of Uppal Police Station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
As part of proactive action against drug peddlers, secret information was received by SOT. LB Nagar Zone, Rachakonda busted an interstate drug syndicate. The team so constituted acted swiftly and apprehended two accused persons later identified as Mangi Lal(22) and Om Prakash(26), both of Rajasthan State. The two persons who are involved in the activity of supplying illicit Narcotic Contraband Substance would come near VT Kaman, Uppal Bus Stop, under the limits of Uppal police station to supply contraband substance, at the instance one was handing over a parcel to his other accomplice.
Thereafter, the search of the above-mentioned persons was conducted as per provisions of the NDPS Act. During their personal search Contraband Narcotic substance was recovered from their possession. As per testing and physical characteristics, the contraband substance was found to be Opium. A total of 1.5 Kilograms / Substance (Opium) was recovered from the possession of both accused persons. Accordingly, a case under NDPS Act was registered and further investigation was taken up.
During interrogation, accused Mangi Lal disclosed that he came in contact with one Rahul, a resident of Rajasthan State two years back. He disclosed that Rahul brings contraband substances from Rajasthan to Hyderabad and further supplies in and around the area of Hyderabad. He further disclosed that he had procured substance from Rahul, a resident of Luri District, Rajasthan State to supply to the needy people. Further investigation of the case is in progress. Efforts are on to ascertain the source of the peddlers and to nab other co-accused persons.
On 7.2.2022 in the morning hours the SOT, LB Nagar Zone team along with local police arrested the accused persons at VT Kaman. Uppal Bus Stop and seized 1.5 Kilograms of Contraband Substance Opium, One Honda Activa, and Two Mobile Phones and Net Cash Rs.500/-from their possession.
