Uttarakhand, Pithoragarh: In an effort to enhance crime prevention measures in the district, the Pithoragarh Police have launched an intensive checking campaign under the strategic guidance of Superintendent of Police Mrs. Rekha Yadav. This operation is being conducted under the direct supervision of key officers, including CO Pithoragarh Mr. Govind Ballabh Joshi, CO DDHaat Mr. Kunwar Singh Rawat, and CO Dharchula Mr. Sanjay Pandey. The initiative aims to curb illegal activities, ensure law enforcement, and maintain public order in the district.
As part of this campaign, a police team led by SHO Kotwali Pithoragarh Mr. Lalit Mohan Joshi, under the leadership of U.N. Manoj Jalal, conducted extensive inspections in various areas. During the checking operation in the Pithoragarh region, two individuals, Naveen Bora, a resident of Krishnapuri, Pithoragarh, and Abbas Ali, a resident of Abbas Auto Repair Parts near Aramsheen, Pithoragarh, were found obstructing a public road near Jai Shanidev Auto Parts Petrol Pump.
In response to this violation, the police took strict action and issued challans of Rs.10,000 each against the offenders under Section 83 of the Police Act. The police emphasized that blocking public roads disrupts traffic flow, creates inconvenience for commuters, and poses a potential risk to public safety. The challan report has been formally documented and is being forwarded to the court for further legal proceedings.
Pithoragarh Police remain committed to ensuring the enforcement of law and order in the district and will continue to take stringent measures against any activities that violate public safety regulations. Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement and refrain from engaging in actions that disrupt public spaces.
