Vijayawada: City Police Commissioner Mr. Kanti Rana Tata IPS attended the Under Trail Review Committee meeting organized by the District Legal Services Authority.
Today on 25.07.2022 under the chairmanship of Hon’ble District Legal Services Authority and Krishna District Principal District Judge Mrs. Aruna Sarika as per the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, the Under Trail Review Committee meeting was held at their office, Machilipatnam. The Under Trail Review Committee consists of judges, police officers and prison officials. NTR District Police Commissioner Mr. Kanti Rana Tata I.P.S. Garu attended.
In many cases, an under-trial accused who is arrested and eligible for bail and who has the capacity to apply for bail or who is in jail, and the aforementioned committee examines the antecedents of the said accused and observes whether he is eligible and sends a report to the judicial authorities. The Honorable Judges will take the final decision on that report. During this meeting, it was discussed whether any material of the under trail accused should be considered in the said matter.
