Manipur: Security forces carried out comprehensive search operations and established area dominance in the peripheral and high-risk zones of the hill and valley districts. These operations were part of a coordinated effort to maintain law and order and prevent potential threats in these regions. Additionally, the security forces ensured the smooth movement of 274 vehicles transporting essential commodities along National Highway 2 (NH-2). This route is a critical supply line, and the transportation of goods was closely monitored to prevent disruptions.
To enhance security, strict measures were implemented at all identified vulnerable locations. This included setting up a series of 100 checkpoints, known as Nakas, across various districts in Manipur. These checkpoints were strategically positioned in both the hill and valley areas to monitor and control movement, deter criminal activities, and provide a visible security presence.
In particularly sensitive stretches of the highway and other critical areas, security convoys were organized to escort vehicles. This measure was taken to ensure the free and safe passage of vehicles carrying essential items, thereby preventing any potential threats or disruptions to supply chains.
In the course of these operations, law enforcement officials detained 112 individuals across the state for violations of various laws and regulations. These detentions were part of a broader effort to enforce the law and maintain peace and security in the region. The comprehensive approach taken by the security forces underscores the commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the residents and ensuring the continued availability of essential goods and services.
