Vijayanagaram, Andhra Pradesh: Newly appointed District Superintendent of Police, Shri R. Damodar, IPS, held a review meeting with police officers at the district police office on September 15. During the meeting, he outlined the government’s priority areas and directed officials to discharge their duties with responsibility and dedication.
The SP stressed that anti-social activities must be curbed with an iron hand, especially in the context of marijuana smuggling across the Odisha border. He called for determined efforts to make Vijayanagaram a “drug-free district.”
Special emphasis was placed on women and child safety, with instructions to act swiftly on complaints, organize awareness programs, and educate school children on issues like good touch and bad touch. Officers were also directed to actively promote the Disha App, ensuring women are aware of how to seek immediate police assistance.
Highlighting the rise of cybercrimes and fraud, SP Damodar urged awareness campaigns through social media and community outreach. He also announced upcoming crime review meetings in various police stations to set clear targets for prevention and speedy investigation.
The SP further instructed officers to strengthen traffic regulation, encourage digital transactions for penalties, and harness technology like drones and CCTV cameras for effective policing. He emphasized that police services must be delivered with efficiency and humanity to build public trust.
The meeting was attended by Additional SPs, DSPs, Inspectors, and other senior officers, who pledged full cooperation in implementing the directives.
