Vijayawada City: On April 26, 2023, at noon, the Disha team had completed their patrol duties in the Bhavanipuram Police Station area when they noticed an unconscious woman near the Bhavanipuram Church Center. The woman had been in a road accident and was in need of immediate medical attention. The team promptly stopped their Disha vehicle and, along with their staff, provided first aid to the woman. They then admitted her to Vijayawada Andhra Hospital for further treatment and informed her family members.
After reaching the accident spot, the Disha team also interrogated the people around the area and took into custody the person responsible for causing the accident and the vehicle involved in the incident. The suspects were then handed over to the police station.
The prompt and efficient actions of the Disha team in responding to the accident helped save the life of the woman. The City Police Commissioner, Mr. Kanti Rana Tata, IPS, recognized the team’s heroic efforts and congratulated them on April 27, 2023, in his office. He also awarded them with cash rewards.
The employees who received the cash rewards were: Mahila RSI – K.V.S.S.R., Bhavanipuram Head Constable-1638- Y. Suresh, A.R.H.C. 1649- K. Govinda Rajulu, A.R.P.C. 3798- U. Ashok, Female ARPC 4466 – V. Priyanka.
The Disha team’s efforts in providing first aid and timely medical attention to the woman involved in the accident exemplify the dedication and commitment of the Vijayawada City Police towards the safety and well-being of the people, especially women. The Disha app and Disha vehicle have been instrumental in the police’s efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens and provide prompt response to incidents of crime and accidents.
