Uttarkashi: Today, on 30.11.2021, Mr. Ashok Kumar IPS, Director General of Police, Uttarakhand inaugurated the newly constructed Modern Police Control Room at Police Lines. On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony, the DGP said in his address that a very good initiative has been taken by the Uttarkashi Police in the direction of crime control. Secretly committing crimes will not escape the eyes of the police.
Apart from this, on the said occasion, Mr. Manikant Mishra IPS, Superintendent of Police, Uttarkashi, on special cooperation for setting up the Modern Control Room, Mr. Mayur Dixit, District Magistrate Uttarkashi and Late Mr. Gopal Singh Rawat, outgoing MLA Gangotri Assembly Constituency and his wife Mrs. Shanti Gopal Rawat. Thanks were expressed to the diginitries.
It was told by the SP that about 160 high resolution internet connected CCTV cameras have been installed by the Uttarkashi Police in the main places of the district like Gangotri Dham, Yamunotri Dham as well as Purola, Badkot and Uttarkashi cities in the main places of the district headquarters like river ghat, about 81 CCTV cameras have been installed at main intersections, parks, vehicle parking and such places where there is more traffic jam.
To monitor, a modern control room has been set up which has been established in the police line Uttarkashi. This modern control room has been equipped with modern communication resources, in which toll-free number 112, Gaura Shakti App Control, and Public Eye App have also been added for quick assistance to common citizens. All the district headquarters of Uttarakhand have been connected through satellite, for which the Polnet Control Room has also been merged with the Modern Control Room. And each police station/post/disaster control room/barrier has been connected through wireless technology, in which information will be exchanged quickly, and will be able to work without any hindrance even in situations like a disaster. This modern control room has been equipped with the high-speed facility of the Internet, the most important communication tool in today’s era so that all the CCTV cameras can be monitored online anywhere. All the CCTV cameras installed in the district are based on modern technology, which is connected online through the internet; their link will also be given on social sites like Facebook. The activities on these cameras can be monitored anytime and anywhere through the app on the phone. The general public will benefit greatly from the cameras of these new technologies. In case of any suspicious activity, the general public can monitor themselves and inform it to the control room, which will be an important step from the point of view of security. Along with this, CCTV cameras have been installed at such suspicious places to keep an eye on the young generation which is currently turning towards drugs, so that quick action can be taken by monitoring their activities. The water level of the river can be monitored with the help of cameras installed on the river ghats. Also, in the midst of COVID, monitoring is done by the higher officials with the help of these CCTV cameras to follow the rules of COVID.
