Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam: Visakhapatnam Range DIG, Sri Gopinath Jatti, IPS, conducted a review meeting via video conference from the Range Police Office on Wednesday with the SPs of Srikakulam, Anakapalle, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Vizianagaram, and Parvathipuram Manyam districts, along with other officers. The meeting, held from the Visakhapatnam Range Office, focused on key issues including cannabis control, the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), execution of Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs), cybercrimes, crimes against women, POCSO cases, and other serious offenses.
The DIG directed officials to identify individuals involved in illegal cannabis trafficking and consumption, ensuring special records are maintained against them. He emphasized the need to analyze the status of accused persons in marijuana-related cases for asset seizures and the application of the PD Act, urging officers to expedite case resolutions. Additionally, he instructed officials to ensure that victims in hit-and-run cases receive compensation and to conduct widespread awareness programs on road safety regulations.
Highlighting the importance of crime control and victim justice, particularly regarding women’s safety, he stressed the need for prompt trials in POCSO and crimes against women cases to ensure justice is served. The review meeting was attended by the SPs of the five districts under the Visakhapatnam Range—Sri Tuhin Sinha, Sri Vakul Jindal, Sri Amit Bardar, Sri K.V. Maheshwar Reddy, and Sri S.V. Madhav Reddy—along with other officers from the Visakhapatnam Range.
