Madurai, Tamil Nadu: A voter awareness procession was successfully conducted in Usilampatti to encourage public participation in the upcoming elections.
The initiative was organized by the Revenue Department under the leadership of **Utkarsh Kumar, as part of efforts to promote maximum voter turnout ahead of polling scheduled on April 23.
The procession featured vibrant cultural elements, including traditional Poikkal Kuthirai (dummy horse) performances and drum beats, attracting public attention. Participants actively engaged with citizens by distributing pamphlets and displaying placards with impactful messages such as “Take Pride in Being a Voter,” “Votes Are Not for Sale,” and “Let Us Vote 100%.”
The rally commenced from the Sub-Collector’s office and passed through key routes including Peraiyur Road, Madurai Road, and Thevar Statue area, before concluding at the starting point.
The initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening democratic participation and creating awareness about the importance of voting among the public.
