Siliguri-Today acting on specific input from one of our followers on social media, Matigara Police conducted a raid at Kawakhali Bazar in the house of one Ram Bridge Rai and recovered 1.05 liters Chullu, 2.16 bottles of Himalayan gold 60 upcountry spirit from his possession, and the accused person has been arrested. A specific case under BE Act is being initiated.
In another drive conducted by Bhaktinagar Police Station, 120 bottles of Himalayan Gold country spirit have been recovered from the possession of one Aatma Ram Biswas of Hatiadanga. The contra brand liquor has been seized and the accused person has been arrested. A specific case under the proper section of law has been initiated.
Officers and men of Siliguri police also organized a drive against illicit liquor at Khudiram colony, Bagrakote where one Haripada Das has been arrested, and 10 bottles of 60 upcountry spirit and 11 bottles of Kingfisher beer has been seized from his possession.
A case under specific provisions of the Law has been registered. All the accused persons will be forwarded to the LD court tomorrow.
