Thrissur City, Kerala: The Ollur Police have successfully secured the cancellation of bail for Sherry (29), alias Kunjumon, a resident of Vettikuzhachal, Mandamangalam, after he allegedly threatened a key witness in a murder case.
According to the police, the accused forcefully entered the house of a crucial witness on September 9, 2025, and issued threats to prevent him from testifying in a 2010 murder case pending before the First Additional Sessions Court. The witness had been preparing to depose against an accused from Marottichal in the same case.
The witness reported the incident to the court and subsequently lodged a complaint at the Ollur Police Station. Following the complaint, the Ollur Police registered a fresh case and initiated an investigation.
Based on the detailed report submitted by Ollur Police Inspector P. M. Vimod, the court cancelled Sherry’s bail and remanded him to judicial custody. Further legal procedures are underway.
City Police Commissioner Nakul R. Deshmukh, APS, stated that the court’s decision serves as a stern warning to individuals who attempt to intimidate or obstruct witnesses. He emphasized that the police will ensure strict action against anyone who undermines the judicial process.
