<![CDATA[August 18, CHENNAI: A woman pulling out the intravenous drip injecting crucial medicines directly in to the veins of a patient admitted at a hospital was caught on camera in Chennai. According to investigators, the footage given to the police shows the person entering the room with two others and then asks the three nurses to give her some privacy with the patient who is her 82 year old father. She then produces documents believed to be property related that her son pulls out from under his shirt. Her father reportedly signed one page under threat and the daughter also forcibly obtains his thumb impression. All this was recorded on CCTV security cameras fixed in the ICU. The 82-year-old patient, a former doctor being treated for heart problem, survived what the police describe as attempted murder. The incident took place last September, but an FIR was filed in January this year. The patient died of natural causes two months later, in November. The hospital is owned by the woman's brother - Dr R Jayaprakash who released the video and reported the matter to the police and the Indian Medical Council for action.
