Almora, Uttarakhand, October 1, 2025: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Women’s Police Station, Lamgara, conducted a series of awareness and enforcement activities to strengthen safety measures for women and children in the region.
As part of the drive, the women’s police team raised public awareness on key issues including:
* Immediate assistance available through the Gaura Shakti App of Uttarakhand Police
* Cyber fraud prevention and online safety
* Crimes against women and children
* Awareness on new laws and traffic rules
Citizens were also informed about important helpline numbers:
* 112 – Emergency Helpline
* 1930 – Cyber Helpline
* 1090 – Women’s Helpline
* 1098 – Child Helpline
Joint Surprise Inspections
The AHTU team, along with Lamgara Police Station staff, conducted surprise checks at hotels, dhabas, and resorts. During the inspections:
* Details of staff members were verified
* CCTV systems were checked for compliance
* Guidelines were issued for 100% staff verification to prevent misuse of establishments for illegal activities
The initiative reflects the proactive role of Uttarakhand Police in promoting women’s safety, crime prevention, and community awareness, while ensuring strict monitoring of public places to deter unlawful activities.
