Tamil Nadu, Tirunelveli: Thalavai Pandi (25), son of Kailasam and a resident of Manjankulam, Nadutheru, has been detained under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, and Goondas Act (commonly known as the Gangster Act).
Pandi, who was previously arrested in connection with a robbery and assault case in the Ervadi area, is said to have a history of involvement in serious criminal activities, including attempted murder, robbery, and intimidation of the public. Acting on a report by Ervadi Police Inspector Sudha, a request was made to initiate action under Section 14 of the Act.
Following the recommendation of District Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan, I.P.S., and with the approval of the Tirunelveli District Collector, Pandi was formally detained under the Gangster Act and lodged in Palayamkottai Central Jail on April 4, 2025.
