New Delhi: The Police said on Wednesday that a man was arrested for murder in Dwarka on Tuesday. He belonged to a gang and had been in jail for six years in a robbery case.
A PCR call was received by the police on the day of Diwali (November 7), from Uttam Nagar’s Hastsal Road stating that two men were lying injured. A police team reached the spot and rushed the victims to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.
A police officer said that the injured were identified as Abdul and Azaad. Azaad, who sustained four bullet injuries, died during treatment. A murder case was registered based on the complaint given by Abdul. He allegedly told the police that they were attacked by Kaushar, younger brother of Guddu who is a criminal and operates a gang.
During investigation, it was found that Kaushar was released from jail a month ago. The victims are associated with Mohammed Gauri gang, the police said, adding that both these gangs often fight with each other to establish supremacy in the area.
The police said following a confidential piece of information, Kaushar was arrested from Vipin Garden. He wanted to ascertain his supremacy in the area and roamed in and around Uttam Nagar with a pistol. On Diwali, he was standing on the road with some people and was talking loudly when Azaad objected to his tone. The two then got into an argument following which Kaushar fired at him, the police added.
