Major Breakthrough in Robbery Cases

Tight Security for Vote Counting

Chennai: More Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) arrived in Chennai to give security to The Madras High Court ahead of the supposed protest by advocates on July 25. Extra platoons of the Central Industrial Service Force (CISF) arrived at the High Court complex on Sunday evening. A police source said, police has intensified security and around 1,000 personnel from across the State are expected to arrive and security is very tight”. An official statement said, lawyers or litigants whoever enter the court will need to go through strict checking at all the entry points. As part of the precautionary security measure, daily entry passes would not be issued to law students. Those who already hold 15 days pass will also be not allowed. The statement added, no Entry Pass will be issued to parties-in-person, unless they have their cases listed for hearing. Litigants connected with habeas corpus matters alone will be issued a Daily Pass, if their case is listed for hearing, subject to strict verification of identity, the statement added. Madras High Court Advocates Association (MHAA) secretary Arivalagan said the protests will take as planned. 70,000 advocates all over from TN would protest the amendments made to the Advocates Act, 1961. “The amendment has recommendations like advocates shouldn’t point fingers at judges while arguing and shouldn’t complain against the Judges. These draft rules were not discussed with lawyers,” he added.]]>
