Hyderabad, Telangana: Narayanguda Police of the Khairatabad Zone have arrested a laptop thief and the receiver in connection with a series of theft cases, recovering 19 stolen laptops worth approximately ₹7.60 lakh. The investigation revealed that the accused targeted study halls and educational centres during break hours, when students and users would leave their belongings unattended.
According to police, the accused allegedly identified laptops kept inside study halls and stole them during short intervals when the owners were away. The stolen devices were subsequently handed over to a receiver for disposal. Police intensified their investigation after receiving multiple complaints and tracked the accused based on available evidence and information.
The probe established the involvement of the accused in 16 theft cases registered across three Commissionerates. Police successfully recovered 19 laptops as part of the investigation.
Narayanguda Police have arrested both the alleged thief and the receiver and are continuing further investigation into the case. Police advised students and study-hall users to remain alert and avoid leaving valuable electronic devices unattended, particularly during break hours.
