Haryana: The Haryana Police has apprehended four individuals who are believed to be associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ankit, also known as Dhaulia, and Ajay, who goes by the alias Bhola. They are residents of Dandma. Ashuraj, known as Lucky, hails from Dwarka, while Ravindra, known as Mintu, is from the Dabdhani district in Bhiwani.
Acting on reliable intelligence regarding the presence of four youths armed with illegal weapons and bulletproof jackets, who were suspected of planning a significant criminal activity in the Chandwas village area, the police swiftly initiated a raid. The operation resulted in the successful apprehension of the aforementioned individuals.
During the raid, the police seized several items from their possession. Ankit was found in possession of one country-made pistol, four cartridges, one mobile phone, and one WiFi dongle. Ajay, Ashuraj, and Ravindra were each found with four cartridges. Additionally, a thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of four bulletproof jackets and four bulletproof helmets.
According to a police spokesperson, the arrested individuals have established links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. All four individuals have a history of involvement in criminal activities. It was revealed during the initial investigation that Ankit had encountered a person named Akshay while serving time in jail back in 2020. Akshay happens to be the nephew of the notorious gangster Naresh Sethi and has associations with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Although Akshay had subsequently traveled abroad, he continued to maintain communication with Ankit through an online application.
The spokesperson further disclosed that a few days prior to their arrest, Akshay had provided Ankit with two country-made pistols and 30 cartridges in Delhi, with the intention of executing a hawala money robbery. However, the operation did not succeed. In the aftermath of the failed heist, Akshay assigned them a significant task, prompting the procurement of four bulletproof jackets and four bulletproof helmets. Fortunately, the police managed to apprehend the group before they could carry out any major criminal activity.
The police had previously apprehended an accomplice of the arrested individuals named Monu, also known as Binda, who resides in the Dhabdhani area of Bhiwani district. Monu was taken into custody on May 15 under the Arms Act. At the time of his arrest, the police discovered an illegal country-made pistol and six cartridges in his possession.
A case has been registered against all the arrested individuals, and further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
