Bengaluru: 637 “hi-tech” Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses were flagged off by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in front of the Vidhana Soudha in Karnataka yesterday. The Chief Minister and Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy flagged off 241 buses on Thursday. The remaining buses will become operational by December. Rajendar Kumar Kataria, Managing Director, KSRTC said, ‘The non-AC low-floor buses will operate in 13 towns and cities across Karnataka. They are equipped with rear-view cameras, security network systems, and ramps for persons with disabilities. “The buses have a panic button for the driver to contact the control room in case of any emergency, as well a buzzer fitted on a stanchion pole for passengers to request that the bus be stopped”, he said.]]>
