Chennai, Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu Government honoured 665 police officers and personnel with the Chief Minister’s Medal for their outstanding service. The recipients were selected for the 2024 and 2025 award lists, which had already been announced by the state government.
The medal presentation ceremony was held at the Rajarathinam Stadium, Egmore, Chennai, on 31 July 2026. Chief Minister Vijay presented the medals to deserving personnel from various uniformed services.
The awardees included personnel from:
Tamil Nadu Police
Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption
Fire and Rescue Services Department
Prisons and Correctional Services Department
Home Guards and Civil Defence
Forensic Sciences Department
Before the ceremony, the Chief Minister received the ceremonial guard of honour from the police contingent. The event commenced with the rendition of Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Director General of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal delivered the welcome address.
The function was attended by senior IPS officers, ministers, Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and other government officials.
