Rachakonda: With the Festive Season being around, RKSC concludes their Week of the learning curve for the Margardarshaks. Equipping the participants with all the required knowledge and awareness towards building a safe and secure society and realizing the Dream of Women able to walk alone at Midnight. This week’s training module revolved around the legal framework, support available through SHE Teams, and details on Sexual Harassment at the workplace.
Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS Commissioner of Police Rachakonda chaired the session and briefed on the importance of being aware of sexual harassment and how to reach for support during distress.
Mr. G Sudheer Babu IPS Additional Commissioner of Police Rachakonda shared complete insight into how women face various kinds of domestic violence and workplace harassment in their day to day life. He spoke on how important it is to empower women and how they can equip themselves to handle any kind of distress. He also mentioned the support systems available through the police for them and how they can reach the police confidently.
Additional DCP Mrs. Saleema – SHE Teams are known for her immense contribution towards the successful enactment of SHE Teams enlightened the participants on the services and support extended by the SHE Teams. She emphasized the need of spreading the cognizance of deadfall acts going around and construct the culture of alertness and awakening in the minds of Women to approach police with confidence and without any hesitation. Real-time cases were discussed and participants were informed about the situations in which the young girls and women are prone.
Ms. Manasi Chaudhary from Pink Legal shared her mind on the Women issues. Ms. Manasi detailed the different types of Harassment with a deep dive on Sexual Harassment Complete information was shared on protecting laws which are exclusively and very consciously added to the constitution.
The Police Commissioner of Rachakonda concluded the session and congratulated the women’s forum team for their efforts for driving the Margadarshak program successfully for 6 weeks. He also announced that the certification program will be held on the 7th of November 2020. The CP Rachakonda thanked the speakers and all the participants for their keen interest in this initiative. All the queries raised during the session were clarified by CP Rachakonda and other speakers at the end of the session.
