LB Nagar: The Hon’ble 1″ Special Sessions Judge Cum XVII Addl. District Sessions Judge, Ranga Reddy District at LB Nagar Mrs. K. Maruthi Devi conducted a speedy trial on PD detenues involved in a Gang Rape case of Maheshwaram Police Station and convicted, sentenced to undergo (20) years Rigorous Imprisonment and Imposed fine of Rs 2,000/- to each accused.
The 4 accused persons including victim women hailed from Odisha state and are laborers by profession. They were working as laborers at JMB Brick Kilns at ND Thanda, Maheshwaram, and were living on the same premises. On 16-08-2019 night at about 7.30 PM when the victim women went to attend calls of nature, they followed her from the backside and took her to an isolated place under the cover of bushes where the 4 accused forcibly committed rape on her one after another and fled away on the arrival of coworkers.
The Maheshwaram Police arrested the accused persons A-1 to A-4 on 22-08-2019 and remanded them to judicial custody after completing all the formalities and collection of necessary evidence.
Since the activities of the offenders are prejudicial to the maintenance of Public Order. Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda invoked PD Act against them on 04-11-2019 and detained them in Central Prison, Cherlapally and also addressed a letter to the Hon’ble MSJ Court at LB Nagar with a prayer to conduct a speedy trial of the case as they are out of State, Odisha Offenders.
The Hon’ble 1″ Special Court for Atrocities against Women Court at LB Nagar examined 27 witnesses during the trial and convicted the offenders and sentenced to undergo 20 years RI and Imposed fine of Rs. 2,000/- each accused.
In this case, Addl. PP SH V. Buchi Reddy and Legal Advisor, Rachakonda Srl. Chandrashekar, 10 SH. D. Venkanna Naik (Present CCS Malkajgiri), CDO HC 2917 Srl. Ganesh, PC 4715 Sri G. Sridhar, & HC 2773 Sri. B. Sitaram Reddy of PD-Cell, Rachakonda have attended on behalf of the prosecution, under the direct Supervision of DCP. LB. Nagar Zone Srl. Sunpreeth Singh IPS, Srt. Yadagiri Reddy ACP, Ibrahimpatnam.
This case has been closely monitored by CP Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh M. Bhagwat IPS by giving time to time instructions & advice which resulted in securing this conviction, CP Rachakonda also appreciated Inspector PD Cell Srl. K Vijay Srinivas, Inspector CCRB Srl. Jagadish Chander and staff of PD Cell, for their exemplary work done In securing a conviction against PD detenus. They will be rewarded suitably.
