Bidhannagar, West Bengal: As part of the ongoing special drive against the illegal storage and sale of prohibited firecrackers, police teams from New Town, Bidhannagar North and Baguiati Police Stations conducted separate raids on November 4, acting on credible source information.
The details of the operations are as follows:
- New Town Police Station: Police arrested Sk. Rabiul (26) from Gouranganagar and seized approximately 13.5 kg of prohibited firecrackers. A case was registered vide New Town PS Case No. 432/2026, dated November 4, 2026.
- Bidhannagar North Police Station: Police recovered and seized approximately 4 kg of abandoned illegal firecrackers near CF Block Playground.
- Baguiati Police Station: Police arrested Krish Balmiki (18) from Arjunpur and seized approximately 55 kg of prohibited firecrackers. A case was registered vide Baguiati PS Case No. 1109/2026, dated November 5, 2026.
Separate suo motu cases have been registered at the respective police stations under relevant legal provisions. Further investigation is underway.
The coordinated enforcement action reflects Bidhannagar Police’s continued efforts to prevent the illegal storage and distribution of prohibited firecrackers and safeguard public safety.
