<![CDATA[CHANDIGARH: Three alleged militants belonging to the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) were arrested and weapons seized by Punjab Police on 11 August. The three militants arrested by the police in Amritsar and they were in touch with handlers in Belgium, Pakistan and the United Kingdom, police said. The counter-intelligence unit of the police busted the terror module that was being controlled by foreign terrorists who instigated and inducted two newcomers. “We have arrested three militants Gurpal Singh alias Pala of Jalalpur Kalan in Jalandhar, Major Singh of Karnal in Haryana and Rachpal Singh of Rakh Ameer in Jalalabad, Inspector General of Police (Counter Intelligence) M F Farooqui said. The militants have links with terrorists of the Khalistan Zindabad Force’s units based in United Kingdom and Belgium. They were entrusted with the task of reviving militancy in Punjab by facilitating terrorist activities.’’ “In the wake of the attack on RSS leader Brig Jagdish Gagneja (Retd), the police launched a massive hunt operation. All wings of the police were working in tandem to nab the culprits during the operation,” the brigadier added. “We arrested Gurpal and recovered a pistol and some ammunition from him and during his interrogation we arrested Major Singh. He was in contact with Ranjeet Singh alais Neeta, chief of KZF based in Pakistan. We recovered a bore pistol from him and few cartridges. On his interrogation, information on third accused Rachpal attained and he was arrested.” Handlers of the militants had been identified as Kuldeep Singh, Jasbir Singh and Jagdish Singh, sources say. ]]>
