Madurai: The inauguration of the 32nd National Road Safety Month was held by the Madurai Municipal Police Commissioner at the Thamukkam meeting today 18.01.2021 at 11.00 am
The event has been inaugurated. This event is going to be held from 18.01.2021 to 17.02.2021. Madurai Municipal Police Commissioner Mr. Prem Anand Sinha, IPS., and Madurai District Collector Mr. Anbazhagan, IAS., both flagged and inaugurated the police helmet awareness rally. The Commissioner of Police gave advice on the causes of the accident, solutions, and prevention of accidents. District Collector Mr. Anbazhagan, IAS., congratulated the selfless service of the police. Later both the Commissioner of Police and the District Collector distributed sweets to the drivers wearing helmets on the road and distributed road safety publications.
Raising road safety awareness for drivers was done by sticking black stickers on vehicle headlights.
Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police Mr. Sukumaran, IPS, Assistant Commissioner of Traffic Police, Mr. Thirumalai Kumar, IPS, Mr. Mariappan, Regional Transport Officer Mr. Selvam, Traffic Police Inspectors, Motor Vehicle Inspectors, Traffic Police, and Civilians participated.
