Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: Under the dynamic leadership of District Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan, I.P.S., the Tirunelveli District Police have been actively conducting awareness campaigns across schools, colleges, and public spaces to educate citizens about critical issues such as cybercrime and the dangers of caste-based divisions.
As part of their commitment to public safety and social responsibility, the district’s social media monitoring unit is working around the clock to identify and counter misinformation and potentially inflammatory content circulating online. In 2025 alone, this vigilant effort has led to the registration of 81 cases and the arrest of 82 individuals involved in spreading false or harmful information.
The police have made it clear that strict and uncompromising action will be taken against those who attempt to disrupt public order through social media platforms.
