CP Rachakonda calls CYBER YODDHAS to stand up against cyber crime

Rachakonda: The Rachakonda Police Commissionerate has taken up a unique initiative called Cyber Yoddha, training young software professionals, students on the prevention of cyber frauds and crime, said Commissioner Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS.

Addressing the Cyber Yoddhas during the two-day training program Commissioner stated that the Cyber Yoddhas upon completing their training will have to enroll in the Government of India’s Cyber Crime Volunteer Framework under the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal which enables the citizens in tackling the menace of cybercrime. He stated that the volunteers can be cyber volunteer unlawful content flagger, cyber awareness promoter, or a cyber expert depending on the trainee’s skill and interest.

He outlined various measures taken up by Rachakonda Police Commissionerate and Telangana Police in effectively dealing with the much prevalent cybercrime, online financial frauds Citing numerous cases that are occurring and also busted by the Cyber Crime police. He enlightened that young professionals should come forward in understanding the diversified varieties of cybercrimes and the root causes behind the misuse of technology by various criminals and Cybercrime groups. He called for active civic participation of students in the Cyber Yoddha initiative, in creating awareness and educating the common citizens so that they do not fall prey to the increasing online frauds like Child Pornography, lottery frauds, Matrimonial frauds, Job frauds, Online stalking, telephonic fraud like Jamtara, ATM Skimming, etc. He suggested the public, not download risky and unsecured apps.

He cited various cases as examples that the cybercrime branch is successfully dealing with. He asked the citizens to approach the cybercrime police at the earliest to prevent further loss and to expedite the tracking of the criminal He appreciated the trainees for enrolling in the training program and asked them to help the cyber fraud victims wholeheartedly. He further suggested that the Commissionerate would make arrangements for Cyber Yoddhas to visit the Cyber Crime Police station, as a part of their further training sessions.

The second day of the training program witnessed wonderful training sessions on Cyber Bullying by Mr. Bhanu Murthy Yachareni, Consent & Data-Why is it Different Online by Mr. Anil Rachamalla, CYBER Laws by Mr. Vara Prasad, Digital Presence Mr. Sai Teja Kaveti, Open Source Intelligence Tools by Mr. Pragati Ratan Cyber Crime Police, Security for Women and Children by Mr. Ram Palabindela.

CP Rachakonda has appreciated Mr. Anil Rachamalla, Chief Coordinator of RKSC CyberForum and Chairperson END NOW Foundation for his valuable services in delivering effective training for the Cyber Yoddhas. Additional DCP Admin. Ms. Shilpavalli and ACP Cyber Crimes Mr. Harinath were present in the training session.
