Ganjam: Ganjam District came into existence on 1st April 1936. The district is named after the old township and European fort of Ganjam situated on the northern bank of river Rushikulya which was the headquarter of the District. Due to COVID-19, the Lockdown had been announced to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.
The Ganjam Police has intensified the drive against the sale and transport of illicit liquor amid the lockdown. The Rambha, Pattapur, and Ganjam Police Stations in Ganjam have detected 15 Excise Cases and seized 1283 Litres of liquor, 48.2 Litres of FL, and arrested 16 accused persons in this regard.
