Mangalagiri: In line with the vision set by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to prioritize the safety and security of women and children in the state, the Andhra Pradesh Police has launched several Disha initiatives to strengthen the rule of law by using instruments like the DishaApp, Police Stations, etc. In the recent G.O, 15,000 GMSK were converted to Woman Police to act as a platform to uplift, emancipate and empower women at the grass-root level which leads to a tremendous increase of the capacity & availability of Police in the form of women in every village.
Closing the gap between the national benchmark of India for women participation in the Police force with the current number, the Andhra Pradesh Police stands at the forefront of promoting gender equality with the addition of 15000 Women Police, rising the no. to 25% from 4.6%. Due to the maximum training capacity being 6,500 members for the Police force, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has stated that additional sanctions which might lead to prospective vacancies of 24,000 ranks in the coming 4 years while leveraging technology for maximum efficiency and reducing human resources.
In the present Government, 1,84,264 regular posts, 19,701 contract posts, 3,99,791 outsourcing posts, 2193 DSC posts which is totaling the recruitment of 6,05,949 employees, whereas, in the previous government, only 34,563 posts were filled. The Andhra Pradesh Police is looking forward to integrating and assimilating forces by giving competencies in the form of Capsule Training method to these newly appointed 15,000 Women Police, structuring the training course according to their job prospects, roles, working condition, etc. Andhra Pradesh Police appeals to all the youth aspiring to wear the uniform and serve the public to please be patient for the Police Recruitment notification rolling out the next year and not spread false propaganda.
