Siliguri: The Siliguri Metropolitan Police and the Siliguri Police Commissionerate are working hard to prevent theft and illegal trade in Siliguri city and surrounding areas by any means. The police administration is conducting various campaigns to curb theft and illegal activities. Once again, the police of Bhakti Nagar Police Station under Siliguri Metropolitan Police raided a phone shop in the Jyoti Nagar area under Bhakti Nagar Police Station and recovered more than 15 sealed packs of illegal mobile phones.
When the Bhakti Nagar police sought documents from the shopkeeper for investigation, the shopkeeper could not show the valid documents. Bhakti Nagar police have arrested a 31-year-old man named Bidu Chhetri on charges of selling mobile phones illegally. The police have confiscated the illegal phones. A case has been filed against the accused Bidu Chhetri under sections 379, 411, and 414 of IPC. The arrested person has been produced in Jalpaiguri court today.
