Kolkata: At around 10.15 am, news came from the traffic control room that a person had fallen ill on the flyover near Park Circus Seven Point Crossing. Hearing the news, Sergeant Abhishek Kumar Bari reached the spot and saw that Shashwat Sarkar, a resident of Bangur Avenue, had fallen ill while driving, and could no longer drive due to severe shortness of breath.
Narendranath Sarkar, the driver of the East Traffic Guard, who was driving the vehicle at the Seven Point crossing, was immediately called along with Sergeant Shubhayu Das. After waiting at the crossing, Karma was taken by ambulance and then sent to the hospital. After a brief recovery, he withdrew himself from the Seven Point crossing, expressing his gratitude to us for the timely help. The entire matter was handled by East Traffic Guard OC Nilesh Choudhary and Additional OC (2) Perth Chatterjee.
