Kolkata: As the city geared up to celebrate Durga Puja on the morning of Maha Sasthi, October 11, a call came into Hare Street Police Station reporting the theft of a few lakh rupees in cash and a few other items from a showroom on R.N. Mukherjee Road, which had been broken into.
A team from Hare Street Police Station and the Special Cell of our Central Division promptly swung into action and activated technological surveillance and investigation, which quickly yielded results. The trail led to an ‘action linkman’ (a conduit between sellers and buyers of stolen goods) in Kolkata, and a few others in Bihar. Without wasting time, officers from Hare Street Police Station left for Bihar, and some smooth police work led them to one Sunil Yadav, who has been arrested. The stolen money has been recovered as well.
