Kolkata: In Kolkata at work, Hyderabad resident Eslavath Rajkumar had taken a bus to Dharmatala. It was only when he got off that he realized that he had forgotten his blue bag on the bus, leaving him with nothing but his ID card. Not knowing what else to do, he got in touch with our Traffic Control Room and requested immediate assistance.
Happily, he was able to tell us the number and route number of the bus from his ticket. On learning that the bus was on the Howrah-Metiabruz route, word went out to Metiabruz Traffic Guard OC Inspector Mr. Pankaj Ghatak. He sent instructions to on-duty Sergeant Mr. Souri Shankar Pal and civic volunteers Mr. Mursalin Khan and Mr. Pronoy Biswas, who intercepted the bus at the Garden Reach Road-Akra Road crossing and retrieved the bag. Inspector Mr. Ghatak then got in touch with Rajkumar and asked him to collect his bag from Metiabruz Traffic Guard, which he promptly did, with heartfelt thanks to Kolkata Police. The Police said that we, too, are glad to have been of service to a guest in our city.
