Kolkata: A complaint came to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) via e-mail on 18.12.2021, complainant Tanima Kar. According to the complaint letter, he came to the assembly hall in a taxi from the airport on the night of 12.12.2021. He accidentally dropped his bag and got out of the taxi, which contained his PAN card, driving license, credit card, debit card, RC book of the car, and 2000 rupees in cash. The registration number of the taxi was mentioned in the e-mail.
Sergeant Subrata Majumder of the Special Red Section of the Kolkata Traffic Police took out the phone number and home address of the driver and owner of the taxi from the registration number. Sergeant Golak Sarkar of the same section contacted the driver and the owner. A bag was recovered from the taxi driver. Inspector Abul Hossain, OC Special Red Section requested Tanima Kar to come to Lalbazar and identify the bag. After verifying the evidence, the bag was handed over to him. Overwhelmed by the return of all the goods, Tanima Kar informed Mr. Kurnish about the efforts of the Special Red Section of the Kolkata Traffic Police.
