Kolkata: This morning at about 9.15 am, Constable Parimal Mukherjee of Howrah Bridge Traffic Guard came to Officer in Charge Amaresh Ghosh with a wallet which he had found on Strand Road. In an effort to identify the owner, Inspector Ghosh opened the wallet and found Rs 3,150 in cash, a few ATM cards, a PAN card, and a driving license in the name of Konnagar resident Dilip Dhar.
However, there was no contact number. Unwilling to give up so easily, Inspector Ghosh reached out to a bank that had issued one of the ATM cards, and after some effort, managed to obtain Mr. Dhar’s mobile number from them. When contacted, an overjoyed Mr. Dhar said he was near Howrah Maidan, and rushed to the Traffic Guard office to collect his belongings. Needless to add, he has wholeheartedly thanked Kolkata Traffic Police for their prompt action.
