Siliguri: On 28.12.2021 acting on specific intelligence officers and men of Pradhannagar Police Station detained one suspect namely Raj Kumar Tamang of 147/1 Upper Boomtar, Namchi, South Sikkim at SNT Bus Terminal, Siliguri with one maroon color trolley bag, and on search 150 bottles of ONEREEX Cough Syrup, a Contraband Drug containing Codeine Phosphate and Chlorpheniramine Maleate was recovered and seized from the trolley bag that he was carrying.
On being questioned the suspect could not produce any valid documents in respect of his having possession of the contraband drugs.
He was transporting the same to Sikkim clandestinely for its sale to his designated customers for illegal gain.
The accused Raj Kumar Tamang had been arrested and a specific case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been initiated against him at Pradhannaagar Police Station.
