Indore: In order to take action against drug smugglers, the Commissioner of Police Indore, Mr. Harinarayanchari Mishra IPS has directed everyone to hit the root cause of drug addiction by operating “Narco Helpline under Operation Prahar”.
In continuation of these instructions, Additional Commissioner of Police Mr. Manish Kapuria directed Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Mr. Nimish Agrawal and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Indore Mr. Guruprasad Parashar to monitor the sale of illegal drugs.
In this episode, during the proceedings, the Crime Branch team had received information from the informer that illegal narcotic substances (cannabis) were being smuggled from godowns at 37 Vishwakarma Nagar, Indore near Sudama Nagar to nearby districts including Indore.
Acting on the information of the informer, the Crime Branch team arrested five accused including the accused who took four accused from inside the warehouse and an auto-rickshaw vehicle for smuggling. On asking the names of the five accused, they gave their names as Anil Sahu, Shiv Chauhan, Shivam Alune, Prem Pandey, and driver Kamal Parmar. On search of the go-down, 250 sacks of illegal dry cannabis and 20 bags of illegal dry cannabis were found in an auto-rickshaw vehicle for sale. In relation to this, on asking for a valid license, it was found that he did not have any license. On interrogating the accused, he told that the owner of the godown is Gopal Dhanotia, under whose care illegal drugs (cannabis) are being smuggled in the nearby districts including Indore.
Seizing a total of 16 thousand 200 kg of illegal narcotics (cannabis) and auto-rickshaw vehicle from the possession of the five accused, a case was registered of Excise Act in the police station crime branch against 6 accused including owner Gopal Dhanotia, absconding warehouse owner, and others related to smuggling. The search for the accused is on.
