Indore: Police Commissioner Indore Mr. Harinarayanchari Mishra IPS have directed Indore Police to take action under “Operation Prahar and Narco Helpline” to take action against smugglers of illicit liquor and drugs to control crime and criminals in the district. Under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Mr. Manish Kapuria, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Mr. Nimish Aggarwal, and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Mr. Guru Prasad Parashar, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Mr. Manish Kapuria, for monitoring in relation to the sale of illicit liquor and illegal drugs. For this, the teams of the Crime Branch have been directed by giving necessary guidelines.
In the same sequence, the team of Crime Branch Indore got information from the informer on January 13 that a person was smuggling illegal liquor near Shramik Colony Narmada Road in the Rau police station area. Acting on the information, joint action was taken by the team of Crime Branch and Police Station Rau and caught the accused selling illicit liquor from near Shramik Colony Narmada Road at the place mentioned by the informer.
On interrogating the arrested accused, he told his name to be Bablu. On searching the arrested accused, country-foreign liquor was found from his possession, in respect of which the perforation license was not asked for. A total of 44,400 bulk liters of country-made and foreign liquor was seized from the possession of the accused. After confiscating foreign liquor and cash amounting to 22 thousand 500 rupees, about 45 thousand 895 rupees, a crime was registered against the accused under the Excise Act in Rau police station and taken up for investigation. The accused is also being questioned regarding the source of illegal liquor etc. And action has also been taken by the police under the Excise Act against 18 accused found illegally consuming illicit liquor.
