Andhra Pradesh: The District wise Cyber and Social media labs are being established and in the first phase, a 2-days advanced cyber training program with cyber experts was inaugurated today in Vizianagaram PTC. In a structured and institutionalized manner, this new crime-fighting capacity is being built in AP Police. In the first phase, 300 Police personnel from constables up to the rank of SP will be given advanced cyber, social media training for building professional competencies. Eventually, 1/3rd of Andhra Pradesh Police personnel of various ranks will be trained.
This program was taken up as a pre-emptive measure and for efficient, evidence-based policing catering to the changing paradigm of crime which increasingly prevails in the digital world like OTP, Insurance, Bitcoin, Aadhar linked frauds, SM based frauds, identity theft, obscene contents, etc. The DGP appreciated Mr. N. Sanjay IPS, ADGP, Training, and Mr. G. Palaraju IPS, DIG, Technical Services for the initiative and extended gratitude to Hon’ble Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister for the continuous guidance to Andhra Pradesh Police in striving for effective and efficient public service delivery.
