Kolkata: On Sunday, March 20, at about 11.15 am, Sergeant Subhadip Mukherjee of Charu Market Police Station received information from a reliable source that a bike lifter was visiting different garages on Prince Anwar Shah Road with a white TVS 180 motorcycle in tow, wanting to know if its number plate could be removed.
Under instructions from Inspector Subhash Adhikary, OC, Charu Market Police Station, Sargent Mukherjee and a few others were sent to Anwar Shah Road. Soon enough, the suspect, one Rishov Roy (20), a resident of the Golf Green area was not able to provide satisfactory answers to the questions asked by the police officers about the bike, so the two-wheeler was seized and he was arrested. The actual owner’s particulars were soon recovered, whose bike had been stolen from Regent Park on Saturday night.
