Kakinada: On 8th of this month 8 fishermen from Uppada(V), Kakinada (D) went secretly for fishing in a boat from Gilakaladindi ignoring the warning of Civil authorities. They were stranded in Asani cyclone since 9th of this month as the boat was washed away. In the wake of instructions from the Hon’ble Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister that there should be no casualty due to Asani cyclone and all sort of relief measures are to be taken for rescue & safety of citizens.
Immediately two rescue teams were formed which comprised of officers of the Coast Gaurd, Marine Police, Revenue, Fisheries and other departments for the rescue operation. With the use of technology located their Geo-location, rescued & brought them safely to the shore at Gilakaladindi fishing harbor.
They were provided with water, glucose & medical treatment. DGP Mr. K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, IPS commended the SP and Team of Police of Kakinada for their devotion towards duty, giving highest priority to the public during the times of emergency and rescuing the fishermen who were stranded in the Asani cyclone.
