Srinagar: Continuing with its endeavor to look after the welfare of Police Family including martyred/deceased Police personnel, the Director General of Police J&K Mr. Dilbag Singh IPS has sanctioned over rupees 2.57 crore welfare loan/relief in favor of 225 serving police personnel.
Vide Police Headquarters Order No. 1652 of 2022, the DGP has sanctioned welfare loan ranging between rupees 01 lakh to 02 lakh in favor of 219 Police personnel for their self-treatment or treatment of their dependents, self- marriage or for the marriage of their wards and for pursuing higher education of their wards.
Out of 219 Police personnel rupees one lakh each has been sanctioned in favor of 14 Police personnel, Rs.1.5 lakh each has been sanctioned in favor of 9 Police personnel and rupees 2 lakh each has been sanctioned in favor of 4 police personnel for their self-treatment or for the treatment of their dependents. Welfare relief of Rs. 1.70 lakh has also been sanctioned in favor of 8 Police personnel for the purpose of self-treatment or treatment of their dependents.
Under this order welfare loan of Rs.1 lakh to 1.5 lakh each has been sanctioned in favor of 19 police personnel for higher/ technical education purposes of their wards. Similarly rupees 1 lakh to rupees 1.5 lakhs has been sanctioned in favor of 172 Police personnel for their self- marriage or marriage of their relatives. Welfare loan of rupees 50 thousand has also been sanctioned in favor of two Police persons for their urgent financial needs.
The welfare loan amount sanctioned for different purposes is refundable and will be recovered in installments from the salaries of these personnel while the welfare relief amount sanctioned is non-refundable, The welfare loan/relief has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund (CPWF).
Police headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing welfare relief/loan, financial assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of martyr/deceased police personnel and SPOs.
