Bhopal: Home Minister Narottam Mishra has said that three policemen were killed in a firing incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district on Saturday morning.
The incident took place at around 3am when police personnel went to catch the thugs within the confines of Aaron police station, 160 kilometers from the state capital.
“On information that there were some thugs, the police team reached the area under the purview of Aaron police station in Guna district. After the police personnel surrounded them from all sides, the thugs started firing at the police in which three police personal were killed, he told reporters.
A police team rushed to the spot after receiving information that four deer of rare species had been killed by some thugs, sources said.
Home minister Mishra said police Sub-Inspector Mr. Rajkumar Jatav and two Constables – Mr. Nilesh Bhargava and Mr. Santaram Meena were killed in the firing.
He said the incident was tragic, heartbreaking and ordered to take strict action against the culprits, which ideally stands.
An official of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would hold a high-level emergency meeting at his residence at 9.30 am in connection with the incident, which was attended by senior police officials, including the DGP and the Home Minister.
