Chennai: Police on Thursday arrested a youth from Tirunelveli for allegedly threatening to plant bombs at the Chennai airport and at the home of state Chief Minister MK Stalin. The Chennai Police control room received a phone call on Tuesday afternoon. The man who spoke on the phone cut off the phone, saying it was a bomb at the airport and the CM’s house. Police searched the CM’s house and the airport with a bomb squad and checkpoints.
It was learned that there was no bomb there. Tamaraik Kannan (25), a resident of Sundamalli village in Tirunelveli district, was arrested on the basis of a phone call. The police arrested him and brought him to Chennai for questioning.
