Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: District Superintendent of Police K.V. Maheswara Reddy, IPS, visited the District Police Training Centre at Tandevalasaon Thursday and advised police trainees to master modern technology and strengthen their professional skills to deliver better services to the public.
During his visit, the SP interacted with trainees undergoing the nine-month basic training programme and reviewed the progress and training methodology being followed at the centre. He urged the young recruits to make effective use of their training period to develop discipline, physical fitness, professional competence and technological skills.
The SP emphasised the importance of acquiring a thorough understanding of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and gaining practical knowledge to apply the new criminal laws effectively during field duties.
Highlighting the growing role of technology in modern policing, SP Maheswara Reddy advised the trainees to develop proficiency in computer applications, drone technology and other modern policing tools. He also stressed the need for specialised knowledge in cybercrime prevention and investigation procedures.
The SP subsequently attended an indoor training session and observed instruction being provided on CCTNS, policing methods and technical skills. He also reviewed the overall progress of the trainees and interacted with them regarding their learning experience.
During the inspection, the SP reviewed facilities at the training centre, including accommodation, food and drinking-water arrangements. He interacted with the trainees to understand any difficulties they were experiencing and directed the concerned officials to ensure that all necessary amenities were provided.
The District SP was accompanied by Additional SP P. Srinivasa Rao, SB Inspector Immanuel Raju and other police officials.
The visit reinforced the importance of technology-driven policing, professional training and practical knowledge in preparing police personnel to meet the evolving challenges of modern law enforcement.
