Indore: Indore Police Commissioner Urban Indore Mr. Harinarayanchari Mishra IPS has directed Indore Commissionerate to take strict action against drug smugglers and criminals involved in their activities under “Operation Prahar”. In continuation of these instructions, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Mr. Rajesh Hingankar, a joint team of Crime Branch and Aerodrome Police Station under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Mr. Nimish Agrawal and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Guruprasad Parashar has seized illegal narcotics and has succeeded in arresting two smugglers who smuggled sawdust.
The crime branch team had received information from the informer that two persons were going to smuggle illegal drugs in a car from Chhota Bangarda intersection, Super Corridor Road in Aerodrome area. On the information of the informer, the team of Crime Branch and Police Station Aerodrome took joint action from the place mentioned by the informer and caught Shahid father Raheesh Khan resident of Bohra Colony, Gandhi Nagar Indore and Shahzad father Kale Khan Bherunala Namdarpur, Sitalamata Gali district Ujjain with a siege. On search of the car, a total of 14 kilograms of illegal narcotic substance (doda chura) was found from his possession which was duly confiscated.
On interrogation of the accused, they have admitted to smuggling doda chura in the surrounding areas including Indore city. Legal action is being taken against the accused by registering an offense under the NDPS Act at the police station aerodrome.
