Mumbai: Amid the ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra, the change in the state capital Mumbai Police Commissioner is inevitable. Mr. Sanjay Pandey, who is currently serving as the Mumbai Police Commissioner, will retire on Thursday. Senior IPS officer Mr. Vivek Funshalkar IPS has been appointed in his place. To this extent, the Maharashtra government took a key decision on Wednesday. Mr. Vivek Funshalkar IPS will take over as Mumbai Police Commissioner from Mr. Sanjay Pandey on Thursday.
Mr. Vivek Funshalkar IPS of 1989 batch started his career as ASP, Akola, Maharashtra. He is currently working as the police commissioner of Thane Nagar in Maharashtra. He is continuing in the same post since 2018. Earlier, he served as the Chief of Mumbai’s Anti-Corruption Bureau.
